Sailing itinerary recommendations for sailing from Marina Crete - Aghios Nikolaos

Starting from Marina Aghios Nikolaos one can sail around Crete (2-3 weeks and taking good care of weather conditions on the southern part with no deep ports and nearly only anchorages on open shore bays!) or sail the northern coast to Heraklion, Rethimno, Chania, and easterly Sitia and the eastern bays.

To sail into the cycladic islands which are about 80-90 nm north, means a 1 day, mostly quick sail upwind (winds mostly from W or NW), and then discover the cycladic circle!

Compared to the trips from Athens, this seems to be a hard way first and the last days, BUT: if one sails from Athens to Mykonos or Naxos or Thira (Santorini), his way back means tacking against the steady northwestern, often Meltemi wind!

Sailing back to Crete means a long trip of 10-15 hours, but with very convenient wind conditions!

Find next 2 examples for sportive, but very convenient sailing trips with nice to sail winds - there is nearlx no tacking necessary and in case of a less advantageous windsituation, one can switch to a very good fitting other destination!isse an!
